Jacek Bigda
Vice Rector for Development and Organization of the Medical University of Gdańsk (GUMed)
Professor dr hab. Jacek Bigda is Professor dr hab. Jacek Bigda – Vice-Rector for Development and Organization of the Medical University of Gdańsk. The intern of the Weizmann Institute of Science, Head of the Department of Biology of Intercollegiate Cells, Faculty of Biotechnology of UG and GUMed.
In the years 1996 – 1999 was deputy dean, and in the years 1999 – 2005 was the dean of the Interuniversity Faculty of Biotechnology. In the years 2005 – 2012 was the vice-rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, responsible for international development and cooperation, then supervising the office of the Rector for strategy and international cooperation.
He actively participates in planning the development of the metropolis and the Pomorskie Region. He is a member of the Program Council of the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area and the Pomeranian Territorial Forum, an advisory body to the voivodship marshal. He combines active organizational activity with didactic and scientific. He is the author of over 50 publications and 6 patents, the manager and executor of the KBN grants, the Ministry of Science and the NCN.
