Signe Balina

Deputy Rector for Digital Society of University of Latvia

Prof. Signe Balina is a Deputy Rector for Digital Society and an associate professor at the University of Latvia, a President of the Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA) and a Chairperson of the board of the IT Competence Centre. She has been a Special Assignments Minister for Electronic Government Affairs of Latvia (May, 2008 – March, 2009).

Prof. Signe Balina has graduated the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at the University of Latvia in a specialty of applied mathematics. She has got her doctor degree in economics in 2002. Research interests of Prof. Balina are mainly on information technology applications and usability, data analysis.
